 The 2018-2019 Ohio State Report Card was released on September 12th. Here are some of the OCCS sponsored school highlights:

Highlights:

  • OCCS sponsors 1 of the 7 community schools that got an A in Overall School Grade (Stepstone Academy).
  • OCCS sponsors 2 of the 7 community schools that got an A in Achievement (Stepstone and Columbus Preparatory Academy).
  • OCCS sponsors the ONLY community school to get an A in Performance Index (Columbus Preparatory Academy).
  • OCCS sponsors 1 of the 6 community schools to get an A in Improving At-Risk K3 Readers.
  • Columbus Preparatory Academy has the highest PI score out of all community schools.
  • Columbus Preparatory Academy has 10th highest PI score out of all Ohio schools (includes elementary, middle and HS).
  • Stepstone Academy scored in the top 1% (19th/1650) in K3 Literacy.

Brick and Mortars (38 schools):

  •  76% of OCCS B&M schools either outperformed or did the same as the District in Overall Report Card Grade (38 schools).
    • 16 outperformed district in Overall Grade (42%)
    • 13 did the same as (34%)
    • 9 did worse (25%)
  • 89% of OCCS B&M schools either outperformed or did the same as the District in Achievement.
    • 16 outperformed the district in Achievement (42%)
    • 18 did same as the district in Achievement (47%)
      • Of the 18 that earned the same GRADE in Achievement, 6 scored higher in PI. (33%)
      • 21 schools overall had a higher PI than the district (57%)
    • 4 did worse (10%)
  • 75% of OCCS B&M schools either outperformed or did the same as the District in Progress (36 schools; GALA and Stepstone not included).
    • 21 outperformed district in Progress (58%)
    • 6 did the same as (17%)
    • 9 did worse(25%)

 

By District:

  • Akron (1 school): 100% same as district in OA and Progress.
  • Canton (1 school): 100% did same as district in OA, Achievement. Outperformed in Progress.
    • 100% outperformed district in K3
  • Cincinnati (1 school): 100% outperformed in Progress.
  • Cleveland (10 schools): 100% scored same as or better than district in Achievement.
    • 75% better in progress (8 schools)
    • 80% same or better in Overall School Grade
  • Columbus (9 schools): 100% scored same as or better than district in OA, Progress and Achievement.
    • 89% better in Progress
    • 89% higher PI
    • 88% outperformed district in K3 Literacy (7 out of 8)
  • Dayton (2 schools): 100% outperformed district in Progress.
  • Mansfield (1 school): 100% outperformed district in Achievement (higher PI than district in Achievement, same letter grade).
  • Middletown (1 school): 100% outperformed district in Achievement (higher PI than district in Achievement, same letter grade) and scored the same as the district in Overall School Grade.
    • 100% outperformed district in K3 Literacy
  • Mt Healthy (1 school): 100% outperformed the district in Overall and Achievement and scored the same as the district in Progress.
    • 100% outperformed district in K3 Literacy
  • South-Western (1 school): 100% outperformed the district in OA and Achievement (PI was 30.3 points higher).
  • Springfield (Clark Co) (1 school): 100% outperformed district in OA and Achievement.
  • Toledo (4 schools): 100% outperformed or did as well as the district in Achievement.
    • TPFA’s PI was 27.8 points higher than the district
  • Trotwood (1 school): 100% outperformed district in OA, Achievement and Progress (PI was 15.7 points higher).
    • 100% outperformed district in K3 Literacy
  •  Youngstown (1 school): 100% outperformed district in OA, Achievement and Progress (PI was 13.7 points higher).
