The Ohio Council of Community Schools recognizes two students from OCCS-sponsored schools who have been selected as recipients of the Toledo STEM Goes Red Scholarship.
Jailynn Wooden, a sixth-grade student at SunBridge Performance Academy, is recognized for her curiosity and diligence in STEM disciplines. Aniya Carter, a twelfth-grade student at Ohio Digital Learning School, has excelled through dedicated study and a demonstrated passion for science and technology. Both students received this recognition for their outstanding achievements.
The Toledo STEM Goes Red Scholarship, supported by the American Heart Association, Designetics, and OCCS, assists young women in pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The program links students' interest in STEM with educational and career development opportunities.
Recipients of the scholarship are recognized for their academic achievement, interest in STEM, and commitment to pursuing opportunities in STEM-related fields. The scholarship provides financial support for college, university, vocational, or technical education with a STEM emphasis.
OCCS supports initiatives that enable students to explore their talents, set ambitious goals, and consider their potential impact on their communities.
Jailynn and Aniya’s dedication to their studies distinguishes them as role models for other young women in STEM. OCCS will continue to support their achievements as they inspire others.
